Practice Price List

PAYMENT. Maintaining a forward-looking professional practice and keeping up to date with advances in technique, equipment, and medication require a considerable, ongoing, financial commitment. We therefore require payment to be made at the time of each consultation or on collection of your pet after surgery or hospitalisation. We accept that this may not always be possible and if there is any difficulty please discuss the matter with the receptionists or with one of the veterinary surgeonsat the onset of treatment. £ -
PET INSURANCE. We strongly recommend that you insure your pet. An annual premium will ensure that most of your veterinary fees are covered, this is especialy important should your pet need to be referred to a specialist centre.

Due to the recent FSA ruling we are no longer allowed to recomend policies or policy types. We do keep a selection of Pet Insurance leaflets at our surgeries and recomend that when comparing the policies you do pay attention to the "small print" so that you compare "like for like".

£ -
PAYMENT METHODS. We accept VISA, MASTERCARD, and SWITCH as well as cheques. £ -
ESTIMATES. We will always provide you with an estimate before any surgical procedure and also an itemised invoice for each attendance. £ -
OUR POLICY. We believe that our clients value a high degree of care for their pets. Our aim is to provide this degree of care with the minimum of risk, especialy during surgical procedures. We therefore make no attempt to be the lowest priced Practice in the area, but charge what is necessary to provide a reasonable level of care. We believe that we give good value for our fees.
We are always willing to discuss our fees and our level of care with our clients or potential clients, we will provide you with as accurate estimate as possible, and we are very willing to show "behind the scenes" at our practice.

Remember that St Anne's, unlike most "similar" Practices, has a nurse on duty on the premises 24 hours a day for the monitoring of inpatients.

Rabbit VHD vaccination. Viral haemorrhagic desease is found in our area. It is usualy rapidly fatal. The virus can be carried on clothing and food stuffs. £ 14.65
Microchip implantation. Please concider having all of your pets identified by this means. There have been many cases of pets being returned to their owners that would not have been reunited had they not been microchipped.

An ideal time to have your cat microchipped is when it is under anaesthetic for it's routine spay or castration. This is at about the right age and your pet will not feel the injection.

a pre-op health check, premedication to reduce the worry to your pet, induction and maintenance anaesthesia monitored throughout the operation by a nurse, injected painkillers at the time of surgery (including cat castrations), injected antibiotics where appropriate, 48hour post-op check, and 7-10 day suture removal.

Cat castration. We recomend that all cats (unless stud cats) are castrated at about 5 months of age. This make a male cat a more sociable pet. Unneutered tom cats roam and fight, this leads to a greatly increased risk of injury and desease.

Remember to consider microchipping at castration time.

£ 44.70
Cat spay. Unless you wish to breed from your cat it is important to have her spayed at about 5 months of age. After this age she will "call" and almost definitely end up with kittens.

Remember to consider microchipping at spay time.

Pet Passport Taking your pet to Europe? you will need it to be microchipped, have a rabies vaccination course, a blood test, and a passport.

We always advise a initial 2 injection course, as a single injection can result in a failed blood test. In England boosters are given every three years.

If you are intending to go to Europe and return, you need to start this process about 8 months before you wish to return to the U.K.
Six months must elapse after the date of the blood test before your pet can re-enter the UK.
Please contact the surgery for any advice on Pet Passports.

The price quoted is the total charge including microchipping and issuing the passport.
