VETERINARY SURGEONS.

Jim Dash BVetMed, MRCVS. Partner
I qualified at London University in 1970, I worked in a small animal practice in Southampton, worked at the Blue Cross in London then joined this practice in 1975. I became a joint partner in 1980 and I took over sole ownership of the practice in 1999. On 1st August 2004 Simon and Raymund became Partners in the Practice. This injection of fresh blood will help to maintain St Anne's position as a forward-thinking Practice. I am a member of the British Veterinary Dental Association and have an interest in teeth. I have a wife called Wendy, 3 children (eldest, Izzy is a surgeon (human) in Cheltenham, two sons, Sam studying Manderin in Beijing, and Dan a student), two cats called Max and Min, a herd of tortoise, and a snake inherited from my son. |

Raymund Bouwman DVM, MRCVS. Partner
I qualified at Utrecht University, The Netherlands in 1992. After having worked for 6 years in a small animal practice in Holland, I moved to Eastbourne and joined the practice in 1998 and became a partner on 1st August 2004. I have two dogs, Travis and Ziggy and two cats Ivan and Ruby. Apart from being experienced in all the main areas of small animal medicine I have a special interest in skin problems (dermatology). |

Simon DeVile MA Vet MB, CertVR, Cert SAM, MRCVS. Partner
I qualified at Cambridge University in 1991 and joined the practice in 1995 becoming a Partner on 1st August 2004. I am an RCVS certificate holder in Veterinary Radiology and in Small Animal Medicine and take referrals in diagnostic imaging and small animal medicine. I am married to Kim and have three children, Jack, Finlay and Sophie. We have a young labrador called George, two cats called Silver and Bryan. I also have two guinea pigs, Katie and Catherine. In my spare time I enjoy running and cycling on the Downs. |

Aled Thomas BVetMed, GPCert(SAP). MRCVS.
I qualified at London University in 2001 and joined the practice in March 2002. I have a certificate in Small Animal Practice and am keen on all aspects of medicine and surgery. My interests include Rugby (especially following the Welsh rugby team), squash, tennis, DIY and cycling. I have a cat called Gweni. I am getting married to Gemma in October 2010. |

Phillip Speer BVetMed, MRCVS.
I qualified at London University in 2001 and joined the practice in April 2002 following 6 months mixed animal practice in Cornwall. I have an interest in small animal practice with particular interest in medicine |

Gemma Hopkins, BVetMed, Cert VC, MRCVS.
I qualified at the Royal Veterinary College in 2003 and worked in a busy small animal practice in Kent before joining St Anne’s in December 2005. I gained by RCVS certificate in Veterinary Cardiology in 2009 and now take referrals in cardiology. My interests include, swimming, running, cycling and retail therapy. I look forward to marrying Aled in 2010. I have a cute rescue cat called Gweni. |

Hetty Pullan BVetMed, GPCert(SAP), MRCVS
I originally achieved an HND in Applied Biology at Southbank Polytechnic before going on to train as a Veterinary Nurse at the Royal Veterinary College (London). I then trained as a vet and qualified from the RVC (London) in 2000. Initially I worked at the RSPCA, Putney, during the filming of ‘Animal Hospital’ and subsequently went on to a small animal job in North Kent where I worked for over five years before coming to St Anne’s. I passed the General Practice Certificate in Small Animal Practice (GPcert(SAP)) and enjoy all aspects of small animal practice and ophthalmology in particular. I am married to Mark and have a lovely ex stray cat called Lloyd who suffers with fits but is well controlled with medication. My outside interests include going to the gym, cycling, horse riding, watching tennis, scuba diving abroad, playing the piano and the flute. I originally came from London but love living on the coast. |

Peter Allen MA Vet MB MRCVS (Equine & farm work only)
Peter qualified at Cambridge University in 1970 and joined the practice in 1972. In 1975 the practice was split into a small animal side and a large animal side; Peter took over the large animal side and, since then, has run it as a seperate business. |

VETERINARY NURSES.
I had intended to include all of the pets owned by our nurses until I counted them. They have a multitude of dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, chinchillas, tortoises, and bearded dragons. I suppose this is why they like being veterinary nurses! |

Helen Overington, RVN, MBVNA. Head Nurse
I joined the practice in 1994 as a trainee and qualified in 1997. I am a volunteer for the British Divers Marine Life Rescue. I have a dog, one cat and chickens, including battery rescues. |

Hazel Sheppard, RVN, A1 Assessor, PHC, MBVNA. Deputy Head Nurse
Hazel is in charge of theatre and in-patients. She joined the practice in 1992 and qualified in 1995. She is married with one dog, one cat and one rabbit. |

Janine Houghton, RVN, D32/D33 Assessor, VHA PHC, MBVNA. Training Manager
I joined the practice in June 1988 as a trainee veterinary nurse and qualified in 1991. I am married with two daughters and a new baby on the way, due May 2010. I work part-time assessing the trainees’ portfolios, training and exam preparation and nursing duties. I am a volunteer for the British Divers Marine Life Rescue. |

Menna Field, RVN, MBVNA.
When I finished school I did voluntary and part-time work at a veterinary practice and Raystede animal sanctuary. I then passed a Diploma in Animal Care before joining the practice in August 2003. I am now a registered veterinary nurse. I have two rescued cats, Dylan and Archie, who were abandoned as kittens, and a rabbit. |

Glynnis Wootton, RVN, MBVNA.
I joined the practice in 1992 and qualified in 1995. I now work part-time involved in reception and nurse consultations. I paint and illustrate from home. I have a cat, two rabbits and a parrot. |

Sarah Goodwin, RVN, A1 Assessor, VHA, MBVNA.
I joined the practice in 2000 as a trainee and qualified in 2004. I completed a course in canine behaviour in 2007 and am currently studying for the FAB course ‘Well Cat for Life’ certificate. I am married with a daughter and am interested in all things feline. I also help with puppy socialisation classes. I have two cats, one rabbit and two geckos. |

Katie Grinyer, RVN.
Previously to joining St Anne's I did a national Diploma in Animal Management, I was also a zoo keeper at Drusillas for 2 years. I joined the practice in September 2006 as a trainee veterinary nurse and qualified in 2009. I have a rabbit called Rascal and am due to marry Christopher in May 2011. |

Philip Harris, RVN, A1 Assessor, MBVNA.
I joined the practice in 2000 and qualified in 2004. I qualified as an AI Assessor in May 2007. I have a springer spaniel called Harvey. |

Natalie Weston, RVN, MBVNA.
I originally joined the practice as a part-time kennel maid in 2002. I started full time as a trainee veterinary nurse and qualified in 2006. I have three rescue cats and a rabbit. I am interested in nurse consultations especially in weight clinics and diabetic clinics. |

Nicola Ranger. RVN, MBVNA
I joined the practice in 2005, and passed my final exams becoming a registered Veterinary Nurse in April 2010. I have one old cat who lives with my parents. I recently moved into my own house and I am hoping to get two kittens. |

Rebecca Pynn. RVN
I joined the practice in February 2005 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in August 2010, I am also a qualified Animal Nursing Assistant. I have one dog called Brie and two cats called Billy and Bulldozer. I have also just rescued a cat called Grumpy Misty Moo! |

Stacey Parker
I joined the practice in February 2010 and will start my college training in September 2010. I have 5 cats including a recently rescued kitten and a naughty bunny rabbit. |

Richard Thompson. RVN
I joined the practice in 2008 as a trainee veterinary nurse having spent several years as a zoo keeper at Drusillas Zoo. In August 2010 I passed my veterinary nursing exams and am now a Registered Veterinary Nurse. |

Samantha Packham
I joined the practice in December 2009 as a trainee veterinary nurse and will be starting my studies later in 2010. I have worked with all sorts of animals in the past, including stable work, dog grooming and voluntary work for the RSPCA. I have a black and white hamster called Marge. |

Daniel Goodman.
I joined the practice in October 2007 as a part-time kennel person. In 2009 I started to train to become a registered veterinary nurse. I have one dog and three cats. |

Nicole Pescott
I joined the practice as a trainee veterinary nurse in January 2008. I am now in my final year and hoping to become a registered nurse in 2010. I have one cat that I have recently rescued for the RSPCA called Dexter. |

Cicely Johnson. Receptionist
I joined the practice in 1984 and now work principally at the Langney Surgery. I am married with four grown-up children. Although I have owned several pets over the years I do not have any at the moment so am enjoying travelling in my spare time. However, I am sure it will not be too long before another cat or two join our household. My son and grandchildren have pets, including a horse. I enjoy my weekly Yoga and Tai Chi classes, my long distance walks and being part of the St Anne’s team. |

Alison Hague, ANA, VHA. Receptionist
I joined the practice in 1986 and work mainly at St Anne’s Road. I am interested in behavioural problems in pets and horses, and hold the BVNA Certificate in Companion Animal Behaviour and the COAPE Advanced Certificate in Companion Animal Psychology. I am involved in wildlife rescue through the British Divers Marine Life Rescue having taken their Marine Mammal Medic course. I originally trained as a graphic designer and since joining St Anne’s have created the practice logo and produce promotional material for the practice. I am married and have two cats and two tortoises. |

I joined the practice in 1990 and work at the main surgery. I am married with two grown-up daughters.

Carol O'Driscoll. Receptionist
I joined the practice in 2000 and work principally at the Langney Surgery. I am married with three grown-up children, three dogs, a cat (all rescue) and six chickens. I enjoy doing agility with my dogs and spending time with my granddaughter. My other hobby is horse riding when I get the time. |

I joined the practice in 2001 and work at the main surgery. I have two dogs, three cats, two horses and two rabbits. |

Jackie Lucas. Receptionist
I joined the practice in 2002 and work mostly at the Willingdon and Langney surgeries. I am married with a son. We have two dogs, two rescued cats and two rescued guinea pigs |

Anna Fairweather. Receptionist
I joined the practice in 2005 and work at the main surgery. I am married with two grow-up children and four dogs. I have an interest in dog obedience and also compete with two of my dogs in agility. |

Sheila Mace. Financial Administrator
I joined the practice in 1989 as a receptionist but quickly moved to the office where I am now responsible for the financial side of the practice. I have a rescued dog. |

Natalie Harris. Public Relations Manager
I joined the practice in June 2000 as a trainee veterinary nurse and after 10 years of nursing I have decided to go down a different path and I am now the PR Manager at St Anne’s. I started this role on Monday 18th January 2010, a new year with a new title. I like country walks and trying new pubs with my fiancé Alistair, who I plan to marry in September 2010, becoming Mrs Owen-Thomas. You may also recognise me from working Sundays helping my Dad in the kitchen at my parents’ restaurant in Jevington called Gibby’s. |

Pauline Hollands.
I came to the practice in 1988 to run a dog grooming business but moved to the office in 2001 where I am now responsible for customer accounts and secretarial work. I have a dog, a cat a horse, two sheep and aviary birds. |

George Kemp.
I joined the practice in 1997 to do some early morning cleaning duties. I now also drive the St Anne’s ambulance delivering food around the town. I am married with four grown-up children, two dogs, one cat and various aviary birds. |
